Hermiston Fire

One Hermiston family loses everything they have in a house fire early yesterday morning.

Christina Wallace and Moises Medrano and their four boys ages one, four, six and twelve all made it out of the fire safely.

Along with all their stuff, their Christmas gifts were also destroyed.

As we told you earlier this week, Reka and Gunner of Power 99.1 are granting Christmas Wishes all week long.

So, today, the radio station loaded it's car with presents to surprise to the kids in Hermiston.

"We think it's absolutely awesome that they're helping us in our time of need," said Medrano.

"I didn't think people were good anymore. This just showed me that there are good people. It restored my faith in humanity," said Wallace.

The boys are still sorting through the three bikes and dozens of toys deciding who gets what.

Their parents are happy to see ther kids experience some joy during an otherwise devastating time.

They are now back in the holiday spirit.

"It feels like christmas now," said Wallace.

"I'm happy, my girlfriend is happy, the kids are happy. It's nice to see a smile on my boys' face," said Medrano.

The Red Cross is helping the family by putting them up in a hotel but the family is still trying to figure out how to pick up the pieces from here.
