Hermiston School District breaks ground on Kennison Field project

After months of fundraising and planning, the Hermiston School District breaks ground on a renovation project for Kennison Field.
The field was shut down last May due to safety concerns.
Since then, the district has come up with $4 million to pay for the project.
$700,000 came from donations from businesses and individuals.
A Portland contractor is working on the project.
The field is expected to re-open this fall.
