A new hotel is coming to the downtown Yakima area
The Yakima City Council decided to help fund the renovation of the Great Western Building, located on East Yakima Avenue, at its meeting tonight.
The City agreed to loan $60,000 to JEM Development, to pay for a professional to oversee and help the company apply for a 1.1 million dollar Federal loan.
City Manager Tony O'Rourke says renovation will begin this summer, and should be finished by this same time next year.
