The City of Yakima opens a new employee healthcare clinic today.

The clinic will provide city employees and their families with free check ups and prescriptions.

City officials say it's the first in-house clinic to open in the state -- and will save taxpayers about $330,000 per year.

"It's gonna save lots of money on both ends of the spectrum, so we get great healthcare in the process," said Susan Knotts, "It's a win-win situation."

"I think it's a great opportunity, not only for myself and my family, but for all the city employees," said Randy Tabert, "I hope all the city employees take advantage of it."

The city currently has about 2,000 people on it's healthcare plan.
