Marijuana Forum Attracts Hundreds
About 400 people filled a room at the Yakima Convention Center to voice their concerns and ask questions on Washington state's new marijuana law.
People had the opportunity to give their opinions on licensing requirements for marijuana producers, processors and retailers.
Those participating in tonight's forum range in age from teens to senior citizens.
This is the seventh forum held by the Liquor Control Board since voters approved Initiative 502 in November.
The state hopes to have the rules concerning the sale of marijuana for recreational use in place by December first.
One parent says her concern is the safety of those who are underage.
"Be responsible as a grower, as a producer and as a business person," said Peggy Gutierrez, "Do I like the law? No. But it's here and we have to deal with it. So how can we do it in a way that best protects the youth in our communities and in the state?"
The final forum will be held March 7th in Bremerton.
