YouthBuild Comes To Lower Valley
Young people in the Yyakima Valley who have dropped out of high school have a rare opportunity to get help earning a GED and finding a job.
The national YouthBuild program is looking for candidates in the Lower Valley area for the first time.
It helps people between the ages of 16 and 24 earn their GED's and enter work force.
The idea of the program is to motivate youth to make a positive change in their lives.
"We're all human, we make mistakes," said YouthBuild Supervisor Anthony Peterson, "Kids deserve a second chance at life. It's really important to me; I'm going to do whatever I can in my power to make sure that this is a success, that we serve the kids and the county."
The program is set to start at the end of the month.
