Benton City woman charged for manslaughter for death of baby
A Benton City mother is charged with manslaughter after her 1-year-old daughter drowned in November while in a bathtub unsupervised.
39-year-old Wendi Finkbeiner-Setzer's teenage son stopped by the bathroom to check on his sister when he discovered her face down in the water and not breathing.
The baby was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center, then transferred to Seattle Children's Hospital where she later died.
An investigation revealed Finkbeiner-Setzer had left her 1-year-old daughter, along with her 2-year-old daughter, alone in the bathtub to work on the computer.
The Benton County Prosecutor's Office has decided to charge Finkbeiner-Setzer with second degree manslaughter.
She will be arraigned on January 17th.
