Benton PUD May Raise Rates
Business and residential customers of the Benton PUD may be facing a rate hike in April.
The public utility district says wholesale power prices continue to rise and it has to pass the cost on to customers. The proposal raises residential rates by 2%. For the average home with a $100 per month bill, that will be about two dollars extra.
Business customers could see a one to two percent increase.
A public hearing will be held next Tuesday, and the PUD board will make a final decision next month.
