Attorney for Bus Company Blames Black Ice
For the first time since a bus crash killed nine passengers in Oregon, we're hearing from a lawyer for the tour bus company who is blaming the accident on road conditions.
The bus was returning to Canada from Las Vegas when it slid off Interstate 84 near Pendleton, and plunged hundreds of feet down an embankment. Nine passengers died and 38 were hurt.
Some say the driver was speeding past other cars on the icy road when he lost control. An attornery for Mi Joo Tour and Travel says the bigger problem was the condition of the highway.
This week federal investigators determined the bus driver had driven far more hours than legally allowed. The Department of Transportation has since banned the Canadian company from operating in the US, calling it an "imminent hazard".
