Kennewick police investigate gang shooting
Kennewick police are investing an alleged gang shooting from early Saturday morning.
Below is a news release from the Kennewick Police Department.
Police sat on Saturday at 1:18 AM, a concerned citizen called dispatch and said someone was shooting a gun in front of their residence.
The reporting party said they had noticed a dark colored vehicle driving slowly around the neighborhood and stop at the intersection of E 8th Pl and Elm St.
The reporting party saw a white car park in the driveway of a residence in the 500 block of E 8th Pl, which is known Gang members residence.
The reporting party stated that two males walked from the car parked at the residence to the middle of the street where they were raising their arms and yelling at the dark colored vehicle that stopped a short distance down the street.
The reporting party then heard 5 to 6 gunshots and a bullet struck their kitchen window - it did not penetrate into the house, and no one was injured during the incident.
Numerous subjects, some of which whom are documented gang members were contacted at the involved residence on 8th Pl, but they refused to cooperate with the investigation.
Officers investigating the incident located numerous shell casings in the street where the reporting party saw the dark colored vehicle before the gun shots were heard.
The investigation is ongoing.
