Vit Plant Construction "Ramped Back Up"

Outgoing Governor Chris Gregoire and and US Energy Secretary Steven Chu are confident that construction at the waste treatment plant at Hanford can be ramped back up.

This after questions about the stability of the construction plan.

The two issued a joint statement this evening saying over the past several months the Department of Energy and the State of Washington have been working together to make sure technical issues were being resolved.

Based on the information they gathered they are confident the vitrification plant will safely go forward.
