KGH Donates

KGH Auxiliary presented a $50, 000 check to hospital officials to fund new equipment including an AccuVein device and an interactive training mannequin used for CPR learning. See the full list below.

The check was presented at the annual KGH Auxiliary holiday party on December 17, 2012.

Officials say the new equipment will add and improve services.

 

  • AccuVein device, which is a vein illumination device that allows healthcare professionals to see a map of peripheral veins on the skins surface and improves venipuncture, the most commonly performed invasive medical procedure, and other vascular access procedures;

 

  • neonatal vein trans illuminator, which is similar to the AccuVein but for use on newborns;

 

  • bladder scanner, which is a diagnostic tool that measures the amount of urine in the bladder or to determine how much urine remains in the bladder after urination as a way to measure residual levels; and

 

  • advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) Manikin an interactive training mannequin used for CPR and airway management learning.
