Yakima Valley Visitors Bureau Sees Productive Year In 2012
The Yakima Valley Visitors & Convention Bureau reports a successful year for 2012.
Here are some of the accomplishments:
Last year, the Yakima Valley and Tri-Cities VCB's assumed ownership and management of the Washington Wine County marketing organization.
It also took a leadership rle to expand the Alaska Airlines Taste and Tote program throughout the region.
The Yakimc Convention Center hosted over 125,000 visitors during 494 event days and brought in nearly $9 million to the economy.
The YVCB also says the Yakima Valley Sports Commission estimates the economic impact of sports tourism in the valley was $33 million, a 15% increase from 2011.
