Brief Lockdown at Garfield Elementary
A Yakima elementary school is put on brief lockdown this morning while police searched for a man.
Police say an officer was conducting a traffic stop near the school, when the driver got out of his car and fled.
Police say the man has an outstanding warrant for failure to pay child support.
As a precaution, Garfield Elementary was put on lockdown for about an hour, while police searched the perimeter.
Officers were unable to locate the suspect -- police had the man's car towed.
