Care Packages

Volunteers with Washington Operation Thank You ship out more than 100 care packages to soldiers in Afghanistan today.

The volunteers filled the packages with baby wipes, neck coolers, toiletries and clothes.

They also packed food items including peanut butter and honey.

In total, volunteers boxed up 162 care packages.

They say even though they don't personally know the people who will receive the gifts, they feel compelled to help the soldiers while they're overseas protecting our freedom.

"These young men and women need a lot, mentally, physically, a lot of them, lots of prayers. So we just love what they're doing for our country" said Norma Nunamaker, Washington Operation Thank You.

Volunteers with Washington Operation Thank You say they spend about $35,000 every year putting together care packages for the troops.
