Prosecutor will not speak about backpack found in river
The Benton County Prosecutor says he cannot discuss any details surrounding a backpack found in the Yakima River that is believed to be linked to a murder from earlier this month.
Yesterday, Richland police said they found what is believed to be the backpack belonging to Josh Hunt and John Young - who are accused of killing Joshua Snapp on July 4th.
Court documents state that after Hunt and Young shot Snapp, they drove to a gas station in Benton City, and put their shoes and the gun into a backpack, and threw it into the river.
Benton County Prosecutor Andy Miller says discussing the details of the backpack is not appropriate, "given that both defendants are represented by counsel, the amount of information already released, the change of venue issue".
Hunt and Young will return to court for pre-trial hearings next month.
