Three new officers join the Kennewick Police Department
The Kennewick Police Department gets three new officers today to help keep the community safe.
21 year-old Cindy Blackmore, 26 year-old Cory Mcgee, and 27 year-old Ryan Fisher received their badges this morning.
Police chief Ken Hohenberg also swore in the three new officers during the ceremony.
Several family members and other officers came to show their support.
One of the new officers says it has been a lifelong goal of his to join the force in Kennewick.
"It's a relief in one sense, but it's also exciting because this is it, this is what I'll be doing until the day I decide I want to retire. I've got a lot to look forward to, and I'm gonna put everything into it. Everything I have is going into this right here" said Fisher.
With the addition of these three new officers, there are now 91 officers patrolling the city.
The department is also looking to fill two other positions.
