Family Saved By Smoke Alarm
A family of six in Yakima escapes serious harm after their mobile home catches fire this morning.
Firefighters say it happened on the 1400 block of East Race Street when an electrical chord from a swamp cooler overheated.
The family heard the fire alarm go off - they were able to get to safety - they also put some water on the flames, which prevented a more serious fire.
Crews say smoke damaged most of the house, and one of the walls in the master bedroom.
