PSD Seeks Community Input on New STEM Schools
Pasco School District is seeking community members to join the STEM Summit on Aug. 22 from 4-9 p.m. at the District Board room in the Booth Building, located at 1215 W. Lewis Street in Pasco.
Summit participants will discuss the vision and guiding principles for Pasco’s three new elementary schools, providing the foundation on which the educational programs will be designed.
Pasco parents, teachers, students, business owners, community members and STEM professionals are invited to participate. Dinner will be provided.
Construction of Elementary #13 is currently underway on Road 52, just off Powerline Road, and will open in 2014.
Construction on Elementary Schools #14 and #15 will begin next year with those schools opening in 2015.
“We are extremely excited to draw from the diverse expertise of our community in planning these three centers of student learning,” says STEM Elementary Schools Planning Principal Deidre Holmberg.
Anyone wishing to take part must complete an application and return it by Aug. 2.
Applications are now available and can be downloaded from the District website at www.psd1.org or picked up in person at the Booth Building.
Community members can also call 543-2159 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to have an application sent by mail. Applications may be returned by mail, in person, or emailed to Holmberg.
