Coffee for Cassidy

Dutch Brothers Coffee in Kennewick is holding a fundraiser today to help out a Kennewick girl.

17-year-old Cassidy Almquist is paralyzed from the waist down after falling 50 feet from a swing at a church camp just outside of Pendleton.

The community is now coming together to help out and Caissdy's father said he and Cassidy are grateful.

"It's the only thing that's really been bringing any smile or joy to her face," said Mark Almquist, Cassidy's father. "With the Tri-Cities pulling behind her, there's no reason that she won't have success. We have a great amazing community, we can't even express how overwhelmed we are."

A number of people who came out to Dutch Brothers today said although they didn't know Cassidy personally, they were there because they heard all the proceeds are going to her family.

Cassidy is being treated at Harbor View Hospital in Seattle.

Her dad is expecting a full recovery and hopes she can return home one month from now.

Dutch brothers raised more than 10 thousand dollars for the family.
