Steps are being taken to raise a sunken 41 foot fishing boat lying at the bottom of the Columbia River near Finley.

The Department of Ecology says it's necessary to raise the boat to prevent diesel fuel, hydraulic and engine oil from leaking.

The boat sank in 40 feet of water and is not leaking at this time.

Crews are waiting on more equipment to arrive from Seattle before raising the boat and moving it to Kennewick to begin offloading the fuel and oil.
