Kids Day Out At The Pond
Over two dozen kids in Yakima cast their lines out into the water this morning.
Members from the Children's Village Summer Club got the chance to fish at Reflection Pond at Sarg Hubbard Park.
It's all part of a program put on by Yakima Memorial Hospital and Cabela's.
It's one of four planned community outings for kids with special needs.
It gives them the chance to enjoy outdoor activities with their peers.
"[it's also] Just getting these kids out and showing them the different activities that they can be a part of and showing them that they're necessarily hindered in this way or that way, and providing them a great spot to be," said Katie Trammell.
The Yakima Greenway Foundation also helped the kids out by adding a couple hundred fish to the pond earlier this week.
