KPD's New Police Cars
The Kennewick Police Department is getting new police cars.
The old ones are being replaced with new Ford Interceptor Sedans and SUV's.
According to KPD, they new cars are safer and get better gas mileage.
The cars have a role cage in the trunk to withstand a 70 mph rear collision.
They also have better brakes, blind spot censors and they're KPD's first all four-wheel drive police cars, so they'll be better in the snow.
The entire fleet cost the city just over $1.3 million, averaging more than $40,000 per car.
