Google Employee Visits Wapato High School
Students at Wapato High School get a special visit from a Google employee.
Suzanne DePoe spoke to students about the company, the type of jobs available for college graduates, and previewed some of the projects the company is working on.
DePoe, a technical operations specialist, highlighted the type of educational route students can take if they are interested in computer science in programming.
One student says she wants to someday work for a big company like Google.
"My family depends a lot on me, I want to make them proud," said freshman Khiana Baldoz, "I'm going to really pursue this as a career, not only for them, but for myself, so I can prove to myself that I can do anything."
"The numbers are overwhelming of the opportunities there," said DePoe, "Getting them interested in getting a college degree is vital to the success of these students."
Google employs over 53,000 people worldwide.
