Rachinski appears in court for status hearing
A former Hanford High School teacher who pleaded guilty to communicating with a minor for immoral purposes was back in Benton County Superior Court this morning.
Daryl Rachinski took a plea deal in March.
As part of the deal, Rachinski was required to register as a sex offender, undergo treatment and no longer work with young people.
Last month, prosecuting attorney Anita Petra said she had received no proof that Rachinski has started his sex offender treatment.
This morning however, Petra told the court it appears Rachinski is in compliance with the judgment and sentence and is going to get treatment.
Rachinksi will be back in court for an update on August 1st.
He worked in the Richland School District for 19 years.
