Richland Police are searching for an armed robber who made off with cash from a Lucky Foodmart on 22 Goethals Drive.

Police report the white man was seen walking to the back of the store shortly after entering the premises last night around 9:25 pm, and commenting to an employee that he "had the munchies."

Police say the suspect waited for another customer to leave and then approached the counter.

He pulled a pistol from his waist band and told the counter employee to give him the money.

The pistol is described as a dark colored semi-automatic hand gun with silver markings.

The suspect fled with an undisclosed amoount of cash, possibly in a dark colored sedan, north bound on Goethals Drive.

The suspect is described as a white male, 23-27 years of age, 5-10 to 5-11, with dark hair and a mustache (seen in video surveillance).

He was last seen wearing a white shirt, black cap, black jean shorts, black shoes, white socks, black and white checkered flannel jacket.

Another witness in the area reported seeing a red Chevrolet north of the store, possibly a Beretta or Cavalier, at about the same time as the robbery.
