The Mission Support Alliance is donating $10,000 to Children's Reading Foundation of Mid-Columbia.

The money will be used specifically on the Books for Babies program.

A program that provides every baby a free book as soon as they are born in the hospital.

Along with that free book comes information and free classes for mothers on educating their children.

Kim Young has been involved with the program since her child, David, was born and she says the donation is a great way to keep Books for Babies a vital resource for parents.

"Just knowing that there's something out there that can help me get him ready and I don't have to go too far to figure out what to do, I know there are so many resources out there but to have stuff come to me, books mailed to me, class is really close by, it's just helpful," said Young.

This is Books for Babies' 4th year of operation.

Last year, they provided 7,500 books for children here in the Tri-Cities.
