Robotics Camp Inspires Students
Yakima Valley middle school students work with an extra arm today - a robotic one.
Today, seventh grade students built a robotic arm from scratch at Perry Technical Institutes annual Robotics Camp.
Students not only have to build the arm - they have to program it to move and function in different tasks.
One student says she joined the camp in order to open up her options in potential career fields.
"I really wanted experience with electronics for my future because if my dreams of being an artist didn't succeed, I can go on to be a mechanic or a robotics teacher," said Lisset Jiminez.
The camp wraps up tomorrow- where the students will be demonstrating their robotic arm to their parents- by topping ice cream for them.
