Pre-Trial Begins For Man Accused Of Beating Child To Death
Pre-trial hearings started today for a Sunnyside man accused of beating a toddler to death in August of 2010.
Juan Balverde Lopez is charged with second degree murder after allegedly beating his girlfriend's two-year-old son to death while he was babysitting him.
Police say Lopez took the boy to a Toppenish hospital, but the child had already died.
Lopez's trial is expected to last two weeks.
