College Planning Day

Hundreds of high school students from across the Mid-Columbia come to Washington State University Tri-Cities today to prepare for college.

The school held a College Planning Day this morning.

Representatives from more than a dozen colleges came to the school to give students a rundown of what to expect after high school.

They explained what they're looking for in a college application, and how students can apply for financial aid.

Students say today's event is motivating them to pursue a higher education.

"Yeah, it is actually because I want to see which college I actually want to go to" said Jayme Walker, River View High School student.

College representatives also talked about the different academic programs they have.

Many representatives say you shouldn't go to a certain college just because you idolize it, instead, go to a school that has a good program you want to study.
