The City of Kennewick continues to grow as community leaders open several new roads today in the Southridge area.

City leaders cut the ribbon at a brand new round-a-bout on Ridgeline Road.

The new roads are just south of Southridge High School and Kennewick General Hospital's new facility which is being built.

Community leaders say they have been wanting to build more roads out there for the past ten years, as the area continues to develop.

"One of our goals was to get a lot of traffic off of Columbia Center Boulevard to allow tourism and shopping to be a little safer and move more freely, and completion of this connection will accomplish that, and that's why this is a major milestone" said Steve Young, mayor of Kennewick.

An artist originally from the Tri-Cities who now lives in Hood River, Oregon created the flower artwork in the middle of the round-a-bout.
