Heightened Security Set for Bloomsday
On Sunday more than 50,000 people will be running the Bloomsday race in Spokane and countless more will be watching.
However, this year, spectators won't be watching from the starting line.
Organizers say people with a number will not be allowed into the staging area and items like backpacks, Camelbacks and other backpack style hydration systems will not be permitted.
The changes come following last month's bombing at the Boston Marathon.
Police will be adding two helicopters and warn everyone to be prepared to undergo an inspection.
