3 injured in 2 unrelated car crashes Saturday night
Three people are injured and taken to hospitals after two unrelated car accidents late Saturday night.
The first accident happened Saturday night at 10:35 PM on Highway 240 near milepost 36 in Richland.
Washington State Patrol troopers say 37 year-old Nita McClain of Richland was speeding on the highway, when her car struck the back of another car in front of her that was traveling in the same direction.
59 year-old John Snedden of Pasco was driving the other vehicle.
Troopers arrested Snedden and McClain on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Both drivers were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center for injuries.
Both cars were totaled.
The second accident happened Saturday night at 11:56 PM at the corner of 397 and East Bowles Road in Kennewick.
Troopers say 20 year-old Victor Contrerasvallalobos of Kennewick was making a right turn out of a parking lot onto 397, when his car struck a charter bus head-on.
59 year-old Lauence Derr of Spokane was driving the charter bus.
Contrerasvallalobos was taken to Kennewick General Hospital for injuries.
Derr was not injured.
The car Contrerasvallalobos was driving was totaled.
The charter bus received $15,000 worth of damage.
Charges are pending, but troopers believe drugs or alcohol was a factor in the accident.
