Hermiston students to spend less time in class next school year
Hermiston students will spend less time in the classroom next school year so teachers can have more time to improve their teaching methods.
The Hermiston School Board unanimously voted to implement a 45 minute late start and early release schedule every Wednesday.
That means middle and high school students will start classes 45 minutes later, and elementary school students will be released 45 minutes earlier on Wednesdays.
Educators will use the time away from students for weekly professional development.
