Richland Police Investigating Case of Child Abuse
The Richland Police Department is investigating an apparent case of child abuse which sent a six month old baby girl to the hospital ten days ago.
Police tell us the baby's mom and grandmother brought her to Kadlec Regional Medical Center on May 5th, where she was diagnosed with a skull fracture. The baby was then sent to Sacred Heart in Spokane, where it was determined that the baby's injury was a result of abuse and was non-accidental.
The baby was released on May 7th, and is curently back in the custody of the mother. CPS is monitoring the case.
Richland police are still investigating, and cannot comment on who might be a suspect, or how long the investigation will take to complete.
