Walla Walla police conducting back seat emphasis patrols

Walla Walla police are warning drivers to keep young children in the back seat of their cars when possible, or face a ticket.

Police officers are conducting back seat emphasis patrols near schools.

They are looking for children under 13 years old who are riding in the front seat, if a back seat position is available.

Officers say you can seat children over 8 years old in the front seat of a car if there is no other practical place for them to sit and if they are secured in a properly adjusted safety belt.
