Franklin Co. Man Guilty Following Armed Assault Against Deputy

A Franklin County Jury returns six guilty verdicts against Rogelio Rodriguez on multiple charges stemming from an armed assault against a Franklin County Sheriff's Deputy.

According to a press release from Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney Shawn Sant, the deputy was not injured in this case, but Rodriguez was charged with assault of 2nd degree with special verdict of being armed with a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm 2nd degree, possessing stolen property 2nd degree, taking a motor vehicle without permission, unlawful possession of short-barreled shotgun or rifle, and driving under the influence.

Rodriguez is facing a standard range of over 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 years including a firearms charge of 3 years.  Sentencing is set for November 19th.
