1st Annual Policy Center's 'Solutions Summit'
Hundreds of people gather at the Red Lion Hotel in Pasco for Washington state's 1st Annual Policy Center's 'Solutions Summit' this morning.
It's the first of a 2-day think tank where lawmakers, local businesses and members of the community gather to discuss policy issues.
Some of those issues include the Affordable Care Act, the environment, government reform and small businesses.
Summit organizers said it's important for the Tri-Cities to host part of this event because of it's significant growth throughout the years and heavy impact on the state's economy.
State Representative Larry Haler was one of the attendees and said a few of the topics discussed really sparked his interest.
"They had some very good presentations on transporation today and on charter schools and how charter schools are going to effect this state," said Haler. "I'm looking forward to the other presentations today too."
The second half of the summit will take place in Bellvue tomorrow.
