Investigation begins after fire destroys church in Arlington, OR

An investigation begins after a early morning fire destroys the Church of the Nazarene in Arlington, Oregon.

The fire, was reported around 4:30 a.m. at the church located at 600 Main Street.

The Gilliam County Sheriff's Office is being assisted by the Oregon State Police Arson Unit and Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms (ATF) in the investigation.

An estimated 20 firefighters and four fire trucks from multiple agencies, including Boardman, responded.

The church is believed to have been built in the 1890s and was undergoing repairs from an early morning suspicious fire on July 9th.  It is unknown if the fires are related.
