A local latino music group is headed to the Latin Grammys in Las Vegas. Los Canarios is made up of six singers all from the Tri Cities and surrounding areas.
They have four songs on the Latin Billboard top twenty and are currently nominated for two Grammys.
Raul Canario, one of the lead band members, remembers days not too long ago when he was playing in Pasco at various mexican restruants working for tips." It was Cinco de Mayo in Pasco and it was our first time playing together. They only let us play three songs and from there we said it sounded good but we need more instruments," said Cnario.
From then on they rounded out the band with four more members and now they are Grammy bound.
The group is nominated for best song and best album of the year. Raul said the group aleady considers it a win just to be nominated and attending the Grammys. They know there are thousands of bands out there vying for that kind of opportunity.
They will be hosting an event in Yakima November 30th and couldn't be more excited to perform for a local audience.
