Wine Grapes Set a Record
It's another record year for the production of wine grapes in Washington State.
The Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers says an estimated 218,000 tons of wine grapes were crushed this year.
The total amount of Washington wine grapes, including white and red varieties, was up about 30 tones from last year's record.
Growth was expected as additional acres were planted.
Washington State is the nation's second-largest producer of premium wines after California.
