Getting Drop-Outs Back in the Classroom
The Boys & Girls Club of Benton and Franklin Counties is offering a free program called Fast Forward empowering high school drop-outs to reclaim their education.
Jonathan Rampey was recently approached by Fast Forward after he dropped out of high school earlier this year.
Rampey enrolled into Phoenix High School in Kennewick, an alterntive high school that he found worked best for him, a few weeks after joining the program.
The Boys & Girls Club put together this program to empower students ages 16 to 21 to go back to school to get their high school diplomas or general education degrees.
The program also connects the students with helpful services in the community.
The Boys & Girls Club says nationwide, a student drops out of school every 26 seconds, costing taxpayers nearly $300,000 throughout their lifetime.
