Wineries prepare for Catch the Crush event
People from across the Northwest are preparing to come to the Yakima Valley and the Tri-Cities this weekend for one of the biggest wine events of the year.
Catch the Crush is a community celebration of the wineries throughout our region, as they get ready for this year's harvest.
More than 30 wineries between the Yakima Valley and the Tri-Cities are participating in this weekend's events.
Many are hosting dinners, tasting events and tours.
Some wineries are also hosting grape stomps, and some will have live music.
Winery employees say Catch the Crush helps bring in new tourism to the area, as the event gives wine lovers from across the Northwest another reason to come to the area.
"We have so many great Washington wineries, small, family owned and operated that you don't get anywhere else in the world" said Jenn Nance, Goose Ridge Winery.
