Fire destroys mobile home in Finley
Benton County firefighters say a meat smoker is to blame for a fire that destroyed a mobile home over the weekend in Finley.
Crews say the flames broke out just after midnight Sunday morning outside a double-wide home at Kelley's Estates mobile home park off East State Route 397.
Some neighbors say the home owner was making beef jerky outside the home.
Firefighters believe the man was cooking too close to the home, and either the heat or some flames from the smoker caused the home to catch fire.
Neighbors say when they saw the flames, they rushed to save their own trailers.
"I was panicking when I had the hose and I was up close to the fire in my backyard. I was making sure no other trailers caught on fire. It was pretty frightening" said Kyle Howell, neighbor.
Firefighters say two adults and two children were home the fire broke out.
Nobody was injured.
