Make-A-Wish Sends 5-year-old Girl to Disney World
A 5-year-old Kennewick girl is on her way to Walt Disney World right now, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Alaska & Washington.
Teagan Maxwell said she is excited to embark on her journey to the happiest place on earth.
She and her two brothers, mom and dad showed up to the Pasco Airport decked out is Disney gear and said they're ready for their 7-day vacation.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation surprised the Teagan with this special gift last month on a treasure hunt that included a helipcopter ride.
Teagan is battling a life-threatening heart condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome, that causes the side of her heart that pumps blood to the entire body to not function properly.
Her mother said this vacation is a nice way for the family to get their minds of medical issues and focus on spending time together.
She also said this was the best time to go because Teagan has already endured two open heart surgeries and is scheduled for another one next summer.
