Repairs on electrical issues are underway at the Columbia Drive Mobile Home Park in Kennewick.

The city forced dozens of people to vacate their homes last night after shutting off the power for safety.

The mobile park's part owner Carl Isaacson said there is a lot of work to be done but with so many people being forced to sleep in their cars or find other places to stay, Isaacson said he and a crew are working diligently to get this electrical problem fixed.

The City of Kennewick said it shut off power at the mobile park that's located on Columbia Dr. just on the other east side of Clover Island  because several electrical poles that need to be replaced pose as a safety threat to people living there.

A few people were able to sleep in mobile homes powered by generators, some slept in their cars and others stayed in their power-less trailers and told me they were freezing all night.

Isaacson said he's been doing all he can to meet city codes and he said he feels responsible for everyone being forced into this unfortunate situation.
