Stand Down and Benefits Fair
Hundreds of veterans in Yakima get the opportunity to connect to services at the Annual Stand Down and Benefits Fair this weekend.
The event is put together to help veterans and families ensure they are informed of the benefits they are entitled to.
Some services included medical screenings, counseling for post traumatic stress disorder, and clothing and supplies.
One veteran also says it's a great way for vets across the county to connect to one another.
"The comraderie is fantastic with veterans," said Navy veteran Peggy Davenport, "To get all these veterans in one building and supporting each other and showing what services are available for veterans in our county is magnificent."
There are about 16,000 veterans in Yakima County alone
