Legal marijuana won't be recognized by Yakama Nation
Leaders of the Yakama Nation say they won't recognize the state's legalized recreational marijuana law.
Marijuana remains illegal on the 1.2 million acre reservation citing the citizens of Washington State lack the authority to legalize recreational pot use on tribal lands.
The tribe wants to publicize that people seeking to grow, sell and distribute on Yakama land won't be welcomed.
The state liquor control board took the tribe's recommendation and added a rule that requires notifying the tribal government if anyone applies for a permit on tribal land.
