Ki-Be Vandalism Update
The alarm and phone systems are now working at all Kiona-Benton schools after a server room was vandalized Sunday afternoon.
Superintendent Rom Castilleja said intruders broke into the old administartion building behind Ki-Bi middle and high schools, bashed in 15 information severs with what seemed to be a hammer and cut the alarm system wires.
Castilleja said the district was able to back up the last year of emails but all the servers must be sent out to back up several years of information.
Castilleja is hoping emails will be working by next week, but he said there is no telling how long it will take before everything is fixed and back to normal.
The school district will be taking new security measures, including installing cameras.
