PSD Asks Community for Help in Naming New Schools
Pasco School District is asking for the community's help in naming three new elementary schools that will open for the 2014- 2015 school year.
The district is seeking name nominations for the new Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) schools.
The district says it will most likely take names into consideration that will honor the contributions of scientists, recognize significant innovations in STEM, or reflect universal scientific and mathematical concepts.
The criteria for the names is they must be significant to the Pasco School District, the names should not conflict with other schools in the area and names of living persons should be avoided unless the indivual has strong connections in the Pasco community.
It will be up to the Board of Directors to choose the final names.
Nominations can be emailed to STEMnames@psd1.org and the deadline is midnight on Monday, September 30th.
